Each time a person puts on their bifocal contact lenses, he or she may take some time to get used to the way the two different powers blend when viewing various distances, but the eye adjusts quickly and any contrasting or blurred areas will be differentiated in no time. Bifocal contact lenses can be made in different designs including concentric, alternating and simultaneous vision styles. Bifocal contact lenses that are made with the concentric design have the center part of the lens with the distance power and the outside portion of the lens has the closer power. Bifocal contact lenses that are made with the alternating vision style are quite similar to the way traditional bifocal eyeglasses are made with a line separating the two powers into the top half and the bottom half of the lens. Bifocal contact lenses made with the simultaneous vision style places the center of the lens over the cornea so that the two powers are split over the pupil and the eye trains itself to tell the difference between the powers that accommodate the proper vision necessary.
